FOUNDERS

Dr. Lorelei Silverman and Dr. Rosalind Silverman, the founders of Medical Education Programs, dedicate their work to the memory of their father, emeritus professor trained at Harvard, author of over 50 books in the field of Genetics, who has inspired them through hundreds of undergraduate, graduate, clinical fellows, postdoctoral fellows and residents he trained and to their mother who was an award winning teaching professional. Their scientific career has been highlighted by teaching and mentoring, and they created one of the most successful pre-medical/postbaccalaureate and IMG programs in North America.

They believe in giving back to the community and their free workshop series for applying to professional schools and residency matching are attended by thousands of students and IMGs from Ontario and beyond every year.

Dr. Lorelei Silverman and Dr. Rosalind Silverman, the deans of the Pre-medical program, have been awarded the prestigious “Top 25 Canadian Immigrant award” in 2009 in recognition of their contribution to biomedical research and integration of newcomers in the Canadian medical system (Click here to read the article). With a deep commitment to help new Canadians integrate in their professional field they have mentored hundreds of foreign trained professionals.
